October 12th, 2015

As far as lessons go this week it was pretty slow but we had some neat finding experiences and even met a nice new guy to start teaching.

So Elder Peterson and I had many appointments this week cancel on us, and it was frustrating so He and I went out and found more people to teach. I have realised recently that I try to complicate the gospel somewhat so Elder Uchtdorf's talk from conference really changed my perspective and I share only the Plain Simple Truths when Finding now, where as before I would try to do all I could to get people interested right on the Spot, Be like, This is a message that will make you happier then everything else, and stuff like that, Stay Simple when teaching the gospel. 

I love this work, We found tons of people this week, We had exchanges this week with Sligo and I got to go on exchange with Elder Forward, he is a new missionary, He is good, he is abit shy but he is getting better. We had crazy things happen this week, one of which was. 

We were on exchanges and we came out of our house to go talk to people on the street and I smelt something burning, I look up and there was black smoke, we ran up to the road and this car was on fire and blew up. It was so crazy, I can honestly say I have never seen something like that before. Apparently the people that owned the car were associated with the people who did the same thing to a different car the week before. From what we heard.  While on exchanges we talked to many people but it didn't seem to be anyone stopping. But We persevered, We met some nice people as we chapped some of the doors and had some nice conversations. 

Elder Peterson and Christensen were on fire, They found 10 people on the Tuesday. We have appointments set with all of them. They rocked. 

We also had Zone Interview Training on Wednesday and it was great we learnt so much, and in my interview with President I felt the spirit so strongly that I Balled my eyes out. Elder Peterson also gave a talk on how we are servants of God. It was so nice. 

Then the Sligo elders misplaced the keys and we were all stranded in Dublin all day. It was wild. We eventually got another car and got home. But Elders needed to stay the night with us. 

We also on Thursday, had many lessons and they fell through and we felt we should try by a potential we got a while back and while in his area we called our friend Jerry. He said we could see him, and We met him and taught him. 

Jerry is so cool, he told us of the major demonic influence in Africa where Evil spirits are very concentrated and revealed alot of these things, He asked us about how we tell if it is God or Satan reaching out to influence us and we taught him about the Holy Ghost. It was a crazy awesome lesson. It went long but he could tell we were there for him.

We were able to lay a foundation in Bro. Williams house with him on Friday and we also locked ourselves out of our own house, We showed up at brother Williams house at 7 am knocking his door, he came and broke into our house with no damage done, except a change of lock. So that was neat. Note to self " When leaders tell you to do something, DO IT!!!!!!!! ( We were told 2 weeks ago to have a spare key to one of the members and we didn't listen. Because we each have a key so we thought Hey I always have mine , and he always has his so its fine. But nope. 

I also got to run into Daniela who I worked with and she was baptized shortly after I left Finglas so I saw her on the street and it was great, then Stake Conference on Sunday was great with a MAJOR focus of keeping the SABBATH DAY HOLY. As we keep the sabbath day we will be so much more strengthened by the Lord. It's so important to all of us. I saw alot of friends from Finglas and YSA as well it was incredible.

Oh yeah we also met a Deaf man, He is so cool his name is Michael and he is teaching us some Irish Sign Language, and when I met him I talked with him in British Sign Language as I learnt it in Kirkcaldy ward. We will be seeing him tomorrow, and he will teach us more and we will teach SIMPLY about the Church, it should be fun. Wish us luck. I need the gift of hands :)

So this week Was a Major Rollercoaster Ride.

We were able to teach our friend Peter this week and we had our friend Colin with us, it went really well and he also Desired to come to conference. He came to conference with us on Sunday and Loved it. He thought it was so cool. 

I was so greatful to hear conference this week it totally gave me strength at this time of rollercoaster emotions. Many messages were very Great and the Message that came through over all things to share with those in the World is that We Must Stand Strong in our Faith and not allow the World to mould us but to allow the Savior to mold us into the beautiful piece of Art we are to become. I loved also the focus on Righteous Women and the impact they have on those they Nurture and Teach. I am so greatful for the Righteous Women in my life and the impact they have had on me. I love you, and am greatful for that impact that I was able to recieve on my soul in my Spiritual and Temporal growth.  Thank You. 

Oh yeah, We worked in the bog this week with our friend Jimmy, and we were distracted and drove into the ditch Elder Peterson called out stop and we all then realized we were off the ground. The Bog is a swamp that sinks away and is like a bunch of Quick Sand, So at first I anchored myself on the bank of the ditch under the Car to Try to lift it and It budged not and I fell into the Swamp. I learnt a great lesson of the gospel from this. 

1. Never put yourself in danger to try to overcome a challenge. ( Stand ye in holy Places and Be steadfast) We will not reach out to help someone that has become alcoholic by Going into a pub and letting ourselves be tempted by it, but Instead the Light we have will bless them. 

2. When You strive to do things on your own you can cause difficulty for yourself. ( As I was Standing there the bank started to move away and thus I fell into the Swamp. I budged the car not even a millimeter and almost messed up my knee. 

3. When you do things alone your strength is less. ( I didn't think of what to do I jumped in and went for it. I forgot to Ask the Lord for strength before acting ) 

4. When we are united our strength is more then anything( When it was just I, I failed, then Elder Peterson and I both tried and failed, then all three of us tried and failed but it budged abit more. 

5. Turn to the Lord in times of trial. ( the Spirit brought thoughts to the three of us, I thought of putting the car in Neutral, Elder Peterson thought about turning around and planting our feet on a sure foundation, Jimmy thought to look around the car and analyse the situation. Then all together we  tried it. And the car moved slightly, but then we called upon God and recieved Strength. we were able to all push together and rescue us all from danger. 

I learnt too other lessons from this.

1. If you are going and you allow yourself to be distracted, before you know it you could be dangling off a cliff. 

2. NEVER travel close to the Edge, If you stay as far back as you can you will always be safe. 

It's crazy how simple experiences can showcase many great principles, that is why the Lord taught in Parables when teaching others. 

The Work is going abit Slower, and The Adversary is fighting harder, but what that means for us, is WE MUST FIGHT STRONGER, and WE KNOW WE WILL SUCCEED because we have JESUS CHRIST on our side. 

I know that the Lord can give us all strength to overcome all things. The Lord has legions of angels and chariots of Fire to protect us and bear us up to overcome the Evil of the adversary, and THEY THAT BE WITH US, Are more then they with be with them. 

The Lord really is The Light to the World , and I KNOW he Lives, I know that he can make weak things become strong because I am weak and he has strengthened me, I have alot to learn still and lots to do, but he continues to work little by little. I know this Gospel is the true gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and I Invite all of you to repent and to come unto him. That is his invitation to all of us and as his representative I am to invite all to come unto him as well. 

I know these things to be true, and I bear my Solemn witness in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. 

I love all of you, and I know God has a plan, TRUST his Plan and Happiness will be brought to you.

Sept 28, 2015

So as you can tell from the Title, ELDER REECE is Staying !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and Elder Peterson is Staying as well. So we have another GREAT transfer here in Mullingar. Crazy so it is. That will mean 4 and a half months With my son. (Mission Lingo)

So this week was incredible we had many miracles again to report. One we met this guy named Thomas, he was awesome. So we set an appointent and went to his house and recieved no answer, so we went outside and went to leave, then we thought to pray and We did and as we prayed we got a phone call from him, saying he is home now. We celebrated. We went in and taught him the Restoration, through teaching the Holy Ghost Principle, After we testified of the truthfulness of our message we felt the spirit really strong and asked him how he felt. He responded by telling us the he felt a warmth in his chest which was moving through his body we told him that that was the Holy Ghost inviting him to act and Invited him to be baptised on November 15th, and HE ACCEPTED. He is so awesome. 

We were able to help out our friend brother Williams this week as well to be able to knock down a wall and learn about how to judge Pottery. hhahaahha. I took down some plaster wall, we also were able to help him lift a couch, and it was one of those couches with a bed inside it so it was HEAVY. I was told brother Williams and I are very similar. hahahaha. 

We saw Favour this week and she is doing great, she said it's going to require work but she wants to be in the Celestrial Kingdom with her children, they are so well behaved. Speaking about Favour she texted us On Sunday and told us she was coming to church. We were ecstatic she found it alright, and loved church, the relief society were so good at welcoming her in. And the Kids loved Nursery and Primary. It was incredible. We saw her interacting with the members and it looked like she was already a member. So Great. 

Ray came to church as well this week and he is doing great with Word of Wisdom, a small slip here and there but it is great how well he is doing, he LOVES church, he feels the love of GOD so much at church. He is to be baptised on October 24th as well so it is very exciting. All is well. We had Ray meet more of the members this week and it is going grand, so it is. 

Jimmy is doing great this week as well he is seeing the changes happen in his life and character. 

Man the Lord is shining greatly upon this little branch.

There will be 3 NEW APOSTLES called to take the place of the 3 who have DIED, History is being made, and the Lord's spokesman is about to address us. 

I know that President Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God and acts in his name, I know the Apostles are ordained of God and share the words of the Lord to us to give us guidance. The Lord has great things to tell us all we need to do is "LISTEN". 

This work is greater then all the riches of the world, I know it to be true and I am so blessed to be able to help others qualify for eternal life. 

We have a busy month ahead of us but Blessings are in store, HARD WORK= Blessings. 

I know that this Church is True, And I know that The Book Of Mormon is the WORD of God, and through it he speaks to us and shows us things to do in all circumstances. It is an amazing book. I absolutely ADORE it and love it because It is the foundation of who I am. It has helped me know Christ so much more and understand HOW to BECOME like him.
